Hi Christina, and welcome to planDisney! As a Magic Key Holder who regularly visits the Disneyland Resort with friends and family, I am happy to answer this question for you!
Christina, each Guest age three or older must have both a valid ticket (or Magic Key pass) and a park reservation for each day they visit. You'll want to make your own reservation while also coordinating tickets and reservations for others in your party.
Since you are a Magic Key Holder, you simply need to make a reservation for the date you want to visit. Use the
Park Reservation Availability Calendar to check if the date you're interested in is open. You'd then go ahead and reserve that date, either
on the Disneyland website or through the
Disneyland mobile app. After your reservation has been confirmed, you're all set. Remember that you can modify or cancel your reservation until 11:59 p.m. the day before.
When it comes to the others in your party, they'll need to purchase theme park tickets. If they do that through the Disneyland website, they'll make their reservations as part of the process. The
Southern California Resident Ticket is an excellent value if they live in one of the eligible ZIP codes. These tickets provide three days of fun at the Disneyland Resort and are valid through May 15, 2025. Please note that restrictions apply and the offer is subject to change.
Single-day tickets are also available – the cost depends on the day they choose to visit and if they upgrade to a
Park Hopper ticket.
You can link the tickets to your Disney account to manage the reservations, add
Lightning Lane passes if desired, and more. Or, the others in your party can manage their tickets and reservations through their own Disney account. I've done it both ways. Generally, I handle it if the friend or family member I'm visiting with is unfamiliar with the Disneyland Resort or doesn't come often.
It's easy to link a ticket on the
Disneyland mobile app. Click on the three horizontal lines in the bottom corner of the screen (☰) and tap "My Tickets & Passes" near the top. Tap the blue circle with a plus sign (+) at the top of the screen and then tap "Link Tickets & Passes". If you have a printed eTicket handy, it's easy to scan the barcode with the camera on your device by tapping the blue "Open Camera" button. Alternatively, you can tap the "Type ID" link at the top of the screen and enter the ticket number manually. The ticket number is listed under the barcode on the eTicket.
The most important thing, Christina, is making sure that everyone has a reservation for the same day and at the same park.
Did you know
Season of the Force will be in full effect during your visit? It's the ideal occasion for any Rebel, Jedi, or Wookiee to head to Disneyland. Space Mountain will transform into Hyperspace Mountain, and special friends from a galaxy far, far away will make appearances.
Christina, I hope you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort with your loved ones. If you have any other questions before your visit, please reach out. We at planDisney are always happy to help!
Adventure awaits,
Kriss
