Hi Olivia!
Welcome to planDisney! I completely understand all the extra things you need when traveling with young children. My kids are a little older now, and I’m only just starting to downsize my theme park bag. I’ve traded diapers and wipes for autograph books and pin lanyards!
Since it sounds like you booked your car rental through the
Walt Disney World website at the same time you booked your Disney Resort reservation and ticket package, I called the “
Tickets and Hotel Reservations” number to see what the Cast Members could tell me about the rental car process.
The Walt Disney World website states that child restraint seats must be requested at the time the reservation is made and will result in an additional charge. The Cast Member said that if you request car seats when booking through the Walt Disney World website, the request is submitted to Alamo; however, they recommended that you reach out to Alamo to confirm no earlier than 30 days before your arrival. The Cast Member also shared that the additional fee for the car seats must be paid when picking up your rental car. So, when you call Alamo to confirm your car seats, you can also ask for the fee details. Alamo will not install the car seats for you; you will need to install them when you pick up your car. If you’re arranging to
pick up or drop off your rental car at the Car Care Center, there is a complimentary shuttle service to or from your Disney Resort available.
If you’re interested in the
Minnie Van Service, Guests staying in Disney Deluxe Resort hotels, Disney Deluxe Villa Resort hotels, and Club Level rooms can arrange for Minnie Van transportation to and from Orlando International Airport for a fee. The Minnie Vans can fit up to 6 passengers and include two complimentary car seats. I’ve used a Minnie Van to travel around Walt Disney World Resort, and the Cast Member driving informed me that the drivers are trained on proper car seat installation based on the size of the child.
Minnie Van airport service can be booked 60 days in advance of your visit, up until 2 days before your arrival, by calling the number listed.
Mears Transportation also offers service to and from the Orlando International Airport. According to their website, car seats are not required when riding in a motorcoach bus. You can visit the Mears website to see the current pricing for shuttle service.
I hope this helps, Olivia. According to the date you provided, you should be able to call Alamo soon to confirm your car seats with your car rental. Enjoy your Disney vacation with your little ones! If you have any more questions, we’d love to help you again at
planDisney.
