Hiya Valerie,
Welcome to planDisney, and great question! Making payments toward your vacation can be an amazing way to have the trip of your dreams.
When you purchase just theme park tickets, your full payment is required at the time of transaction. Unfortunately, only Guests with a
Vacation Package (which is when you combine your theme park tickets with a resort hotel reservation in the same transaction) can make payments toward their final balance at this time. So, if you are not planning to or need a resort hotel stay, you will have to pay for your tickets all at once.
Valerie, while I prefer staying onsite at resort hotels for their proximity to the theme parks, the extra benefits (including the water park benefit for this year), and the beautiful theming, it isn’t always what works best for our family, even with the ability to make payments. So, I wanted to share our tips for budgeting. We like to create our own payment plan using
Disney Gift Cards. We create an estimate of what we will need for our vacation and then purchase Disney Gift Cards a little at a time until we have the full amount. We then use those gift cards to purchase our tickets, buy snacks and meals, and shop for Mickey souvenirs.
I hope that was helpful, Valerie. I know there are many things to consider when planning a vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth, so please come back and see us if you need anything else. Before I let you go, don’t forget to check out the
Special Offers page on the website. New offers are added all the time and can be a great way to help you save money to be used for yummy treats at the theme parks.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
