Hey there, hi there, ho there Sam! Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for stopping by with your question. It sounds like you’re planning an incredible trip to
Walt Disney World Resort how exciting! With so many ways to customize your visit, it’s great that you’re thinking ahead about Lightning Lane options. I’d be happy to help clarify how it all works!
You can still book your own
Lightning Lane Passes on the My Disney Experience app even if someone else is managing the Friends and Family list, as long as a few things are set up correctly.
You need to be properly connected through the
Friends and Family list. The person managing your plans must give you permission to make plans for yourself. They can check this by going into their Family & Friends list, selecting your name, and making sure the setting allows you to make plans. If that permission is set, you’ll have full ability to select your own Lightning Lanes.
When using Lightning Lane Passes, each guest must purchase it for themselves through their My Disney Experience account. As long as everyone in your group has purchased Lightning Lane Passes for the same day and is linked through the Friends & Family list, reservations can be made either together by one person or individually.
By linking through the Friends & Family list, one person can oversee and coordinate reservations for the group. This is especially helpful for families or groups who prefer one person to take the lead in planning. If different members of the group want to experience different attractions, the app allows for flexibility. Each individual can choose and manage their own reservations, and you’ll still see the plans for those who are linked. For high demand attractions, it’s often best for one person to make the reservations for the group to ensure everyone gets the same return time.
Sam, I hope you find this information helpful as you prepare for an exciting visit to Walt Disney World Resort! Thank you again for visiting planDisney. Have a magical day!
