Ahoy there, Scott! Welcome to planDisney. It sounds like you want adventure in the great, wide somewhere. A
Disney Cruise Line vacation is perfect for exploring beyond the reef!
Planning for
Port Adventures is so exciting, but with all the whoozits and whatzits galore, it can be tough to choose. When your cruise is paid in full and your booking window opens, you can start reserving Port Adventures and some
onboard activities like adult-exclusive dining and
Senses Spa appointments. You can make reservations online under "
Book / Manage Cruise Activities" or on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.
The system will not allow you to have overlapping activities reserved. Typically, if you try to book something that conflicts with another reservation, your name will be greyed out when you go to select whom to include. If you want to pick something new, you would first need to cancel the activity you booked.
You can search Port Adventures by destination, port of call, activity type and activity level to get a sense of what may be available on your cruise. While these may not all be offered on your cruise, you can "window shop" ahead of time and start thinking through your priorities. I also read the details to see what to expect, like what is included in the experience and travel times to reach the destination. I also find it helpful to map my ideal Port Adventures across the entire cruise, as some ports offer similar activities. Looking across days helps me put all the pieces together for all the gadgets and gizmos aplenty I want to experience on my cruise.
Scott, as Ursula says, "Life's full of tough choices, isn't it?" Luckily, the ones before you are all good options. And if you change your mind (which you need to do at least 3 days before your cruise), I hope the adventure of your dreams is still available.
