Greetings, Susan! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with this very important question. You are headed to a galaxy far, far, away so very soon!
I have noticed that Disneyland Resort dining reservations don't quite go by the same timing as Walt Disney World dining reservations. The last time I booked a dining reservation, that particular location's reservations did not open up at the same time that others dropped, in fact, it was a couple of days later than the 60-day mark. When dining reservations do drop on the 60-day mark, it seems like it is around 6:00 a.m., PST, but again this can vary.
If your force is not strong with advanced reservations, do not fear! I have a few tips that I've learned from my frequent visits to Batuu. I recommend checking back to the dining reservations the day or two before the day you are hoping to get a reservation for. This is because reservations need to be canceled the day before in order to avoid a no-show fee. I've had luck getting Oga's approval the day before my arrival before!
Oga's Cantina is unique in that bounty hunters tend to come and go quite quickly for a quick refuel versus other dining locations because the menu consists of drinks and a few light appetizers. This means you have a better chance of making it in! Oga's Cantina actually participates in the
mobile walk-up list. This means you can head towards the location, click the location in the Disneyland app, and see if the walk-up list is open and join. It does close from time to time, but keep checking back. I arrived there before noon one day and the app said it was full, but I found out it was actually because they were accommodating walk-up Guests immediately. So it doesn't hurt to check with a Cast Member outside.
Susan, I hope these tips help you secure some time with Oga. Please tell DJ R-3X I said hello!
Carrie
