Can you book 4 nights at one hotel (for the discounted rate) and then 4 nights at a different hotel on the website? We would want our park passes to be spaced out throughout the duration of the stay so would we add those separately?

Hello, Leah. Welcome to planDisney, and welcome to the world affectionately called "Split Stays."

Ursula says, "Life's full of tough choices, innit?" A split stay says, "I don't have to decide!" Changing your Disney Resorts Collection hotel mid-trip is a fabulous way to give voice to different Disney styles in one vacation. You can spend a few days with the high energy of Disney's Art of Animation Resort and then relish the tranquility of watching a giraffe pass by your room at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. This is also an incredible option if you want a deluxe resort for a special celebration, but you also want a resort that costs a little less to stay in the magic longer. A split stay allows you to be a part of both worlds.

There are a few tips and tricks for making the most of a split stay.

    • You will have two windows to book dining reservations and Enchanting Extras. The dates you make reservations will be linked to each stay separately. Try for your priorities during the first resort stay and know you have a second chance in just a few days.
    • You will have to check out of your first resort by 11 am, and the check-in time for your second resort is 3 pm. If you are spending the day at a theme park, Life is the bubbles! You won't notice this at all, but it is helpful to think about how to pack and make sure you have any medication or other things you want to get to if needed during the day.
    • You may want to move your luggage if you have a car. If you are immersing yourself in the "Disney Bubble" and relying on Disney Transportation, your resort's Bell Services will help transport your luggage to your second location. Just make sure you ask what time they need your luggage ahead of time so you can plan to get your bags to them.
    • As you noted, I would buy tickets separately to take advantage of the rates for more days in the theme parks. An 8-day ticket is usually cheaper than two 4-day tickets.
    • For every stay, check the Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page for any options to stretch your vacation dollars.
