Hi Björn!
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question! I'm excited you are planning a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort next year! While bookings for 2024 are not available just yet, it's always a great idea to start mapping out your plans for when the time comes.
I took a look at the
Walt Disney World European website and entered random dates for later this year, just to get an idea of the booking process for Guests coming from this region. When choosing a five-night stay, it only gives you the option to choose a 6-day park ticket as you mentioned in your question. The same goes if you decided to book a four-night stay, it defaults to a 5-day park ticket. It seems to only give you the option to bundle the length of your resort stay with a ticket package for one additional day. I decided to call the Walt Disney World Resort and speak to a Cast Member for further assistance. They recommended
calling 00 800 2006 0809 (freephone) and having a Cast Member assist you with your booking. If you are able to choose the length of your tickets as part of the package, they will be able to assist you here.
Björn, you always have the option to book your resort and ticket package separately from one another. By doing it this way, you are guaranteed to book the desired length of tickets you prefer. The only downside to purchasing your tickets this way is they will be nonrefundable. If you need to cancel your trip for any reason, you will not be able to get a refund for your ticket package.
I would suggest
comparing the costs of a 6-day ticket with that of a 4-day ticket. While there are savings, they may not be as much as you are anticipating. The cost per day, per ticket, drops considerably when adding additional park days. It also may be nice to have the option to visit the parks during your arrival and departure day, even if they are not full days. My family loves to visit the Magic Kingdom on our arrival day to catch the nighttime spectacular. It's a great way to start our trip!
I hope you have a magical stay, Björn!
