I want to book a nice meal in the Magic Kingdom. I am considering the Crystal Palace. We are an adult party of four. Do you think we would feel out of place since this restaurant is a character meal? If so, do you have another option for our group? Thanks

    Hi Tonya!

You've come to the right place because I'm a hardcore Disney foodie! While I love the attractions, shows, resorts, and everything else that makes Walt Disney World an incredible place to visit - the food is way up there on my list of things I look forward to.

Good question about the character dining experience at The Crystal Palace. Before my wife and I had children, we never felt out of place at any of the character dining restaurants in Walt Disney World. In fact, The Crystal Palace routinely made it on our list of restaurants to eat at during our vacations.

With all of the restaurants that offer character dining experiences, interacting with the characters during your meal is completely optional. They'll stop by your table and will interact with you if you'd like to snap a picture or two. Or, if you'd rather play it a little low-key, you can just wave and smile while you stay in your seat and they'll respect your privacy.

So, if The Crystal Palace sounds like a restaurant you all would enjoy, then I would definitely book a reservation as soon as possible (it's really popular and books up quickly).

If you're on the fence about any other restaurants in Walt Disney World, please feel free to write back to me and I'll be more than happy to share my thoughts and personal experiences from those locations. I love talking about the food at Walt Disney World, so I'll gladly field any questions you may have!

I hope that helps and I hope you have an awesome vacation!

    Best regards,
    Derek
