Since I can only book 7 months in advance, what month do I have the best chance of getting a reservation.

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There Sandra!

Welcome to planDisney.  There are so many exciting things that come with planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, but I think my favorite part is choosing where we're going to stay during our trip –– that's when it starts feeling real to me!  Since it looks like you're already thinking about which Disney Vacation Club Resort will be your home-away-from-home for your upcoming stay, let's talk about how you can use your booking windows to find the perfect accommodations for your trip.

When you book a Disney Vacation Club Resort stay, you have two different booking windows –– your Home Resort window and the window for all other Resorts.  While the booking window for other Resorts begins 7 months before check-in at 8:00 AM EST, your Home Resort window actually opens up 11 months before check-in.  You're likely to find the most availability by making a reservation at your Home Resort right at the 11-month mark.  If you choose to stay at a Disney Vacation Club Resort other than your Home Resort and your ideal reservation isn't available right when the 7-month booking window opens, don't panic –– Resort availability changes all the time.  For the best chance of securing your reservation, I suggest making a Waitlist request for your desired dates and continuing to check for the reservation on your own, as well –– that way you'll double your chances of booking success!

While the crowds at Walt Disney World are probably never what most people would consider "low", there are definitely periods during the year that are less crowded than others.  If your dates are flexible, you might have good luck finding more Resort availability during one of these times. A great tool for helping you figure out when these periods might be is the Points Chart for each Disney Vacation Club Resort.  In general, the busier the season, the more Vacation Points that are required for a stay.  Typically, September and January have the lowest Points requirements per night.

Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney, Sandra.  Whichever Disney Vacation Club Resort you choose, I hope your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation is filled with magic from beginning to end!

    Wishing You a Wonderful Day,
    Amy
