Welcome Home, Tina! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney - it always makes my day to chat with a fellow
Disney Vacation Club Member. This is a great question about a feature of Membership that lots of folks don't know about, and I'm here to lend an assist and hopefully make your vacation dreams a reality!
When we were deciding whether to join DVC, one important factor was the ability to use
Vacation Points to stay at resorts beyond our Home Resort. It is one of the things that makes DVC so different from traditional timeshares, and it adds so much to your Membership to be able to explore a whole new world of Disney destinations!
I'm happy to report that you most certainly can exchange points to make a reservation at any of the Resort Hotels at
Walt Disney World Resort, as well as
Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, and Tokyo Disney Resort. All of these hotels are part of the
Disney Collection, and DVC Members may book stays there as early as 11 months before check-in, subject to availability and whether the relevant
Points Charts have been published.
To book a stay at one of the Moderate resorts at Walt Disney World (my personal favorite is
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside), contact
Member Services. They will be able to check availability and make a booking for you. Keep in mind that the transaction carries a one-time fee, but this is waived for Members who have purchased the
Membership Magic Beyond option for the year.
Tina, I hope this information is helpful and that you'll be able to enjoy a memorable May vacation at The Most Magical Place on Earth! Our planDisney crew is here to help with any other questions you may have about your DVC Membership or your upcoming trip.
Stay Magical!
Susan
