How do we book a mobility scooter for October next year Do I need a medical certificate

Hiya, Jacqualine! Welcome to planDisney. I'm so excited that you'll be taking a trip "Home" to Walt Disney World Resort--and coming from Australia to boot! You've got a friend in me, and I'm happy to help with your question to make sure your time at The Most Magical Place on Earth is as comfortable as can be.

As a nurse who wears my love for Disney on my sleeve (or at least my lanyard!), I've had many chats with patients and families over the years about navigating Walt Disney World with mobility issues. In my experience, Disney does an amazing job ensuring that all Guests can access the magic so they don't miss a thing! Guests using a scooter can in many cases remain on their ECV to navigate the queues for attractions and shows and then transfer to a ride vehicle.

You will not need any medical documentation to book a scooter, Jacqualine. Guests may rent an ECV onsite at Walt Disney World in the theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs. These scooters stay in the park where they are rented, but if you are going to park hop you can return the EVC before leaving park #1, and then show your rental receipt at park #2 to pick up a new one. It's important to know that these mobility scooters are only available on a first-come, first-served basis, and you cannot book them as a "length of stay" reservation. This means you will have to rent an ECV each day that you plan to use it.

If you would like the convenience of an ECV for your entire stay, I suggest renting from ScooterBug. They are a Disney Featured Provider based in Orlando that rents scooters, wheelchairs, and strollers. I rented from the company a couple of years ago when one of my girls had an injury and required a wheelchair for our trip. ScooterBug delivered the chair to our Disney Resort Hotel and picked it up at the end of our vacation--we didn't even need to be present! It made things very easy and allowed my daughter to fully be a part of our trip.

I hope this information is helpful as you make plans for your 2025 trip, Jacqualine! Thank you so much for visiting planDisney, and please stop by anytime if our crew can help with any other questions to make your vacation as magical as can be.

    See Ya Real Soon!
