I would like to book a March 2026 vacation. I would need to borrow the points from 2026 into 2025 in order to book it. Since my 2025 use year ends July 31, can I make any changes to a March 2026 trip? will any change after 7/31 result in point forfeiture?

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Phillip!

You are as welcome as can be here at planDisney! How exciting that you are planning your next Disney adventure.

Phillip, if your Use Year ends July 31, I am guessing you have an August 1 Use Year.  Right now, you are in your 2024 Use Year, and so any Vacation Points that haven't been Banked prior to the Banking Deadline for your Use Year (which was March 31) have to be used by July 31st of this year or they are forfeited.  But, if you have Banked unused 2024 Vacation Points, and use them for your March 2026 vacation, then those have to be used by the last day of your 2025 Use Year, which is July 31, 2026.

But, with your August Use Year, on August 1, 2025, you will receive your 2025 Vacation Points.  After that date, you can use your allotted 2025 Vacation Points and Borrow 2026 Vacation Points.

Now, if you have to make any changes to your reservation that is in March 2026, you will still be before your March 31 Banking Deadline for your 2025 Vacation Points.  You do need to note the cancellation timelines, as cancellations within 30 days of Check-In have different rules than if you are outside of that window.  If you were to use your 2025 Vacation Points and 2026 Vacation Points, and then move your travel to after March 31 (your Banking Deadline) and then cancel your vacation after this date, you would have to use your 2025 Vacation Points by July 31 or they would be forfeited.

I hope this helps you, Phillip. If you have specific questions about your plans and account, I would recommend calling Member Services. They have access to your Use Year, Banked Vacation Points, and Borrowed Vacation Points, and would be able to advise you directly to help you make the most of your Membership. If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, soar back here to see me and I'll be so happy to help you.

    Magically Yours,
