Where should be book lodging for a Disney Halloween trip? What are the event dates for a Halloween at Disney?

    Hi Meghan, welcome to planDisney!

You've picked a spooktacular time of year to visit Walt Disney World Resort! Late October into early November is my family's favorite time to visit the parks because the temperatures are typically mild and you get to experience the overnight transformation between two seasons of celebration: Halloween and the holidays.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park is the special event of the spooky season. Party Guests of all ages are encouraged to dress in costume while enjoying trick-or-treating, party-exclusive entertainment, unique character greetings, and more. Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, led by the Headless Horseman, is always my top priority; it has a wickedly villainous finale! Attendance at this event requires a special event ticket, separate from a general admission ticket. The party starts at 7:00 p.m. and goes until midnight, but Guests can enter Magic Kingdom Park as early as 4:00 p.m. I strongly recommend making your party day a resort day. Enjoy your resort's amenities, spend some time at the pool, and take a good rest so no one turns into a pumpkin before midnight.

2024 dates for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party won't be released until the spring, but it's helpful to know that tickets to this year's parties (held on select nights August 11 - November 1) went on sale April 27 for Guests with a Disney Resort hotel reservation and May 2 for all other Guests. Party tickets typically sell out, and Halloween night is one of the first dates to fill up. Magic Kingdom Park closes early on party nights for general admission Guests, which is why you should make yourself aware of all party dates during your vacation, Meghan. Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular lights up the sky around Cinderella Castle during the Halloween party, but you'll have to visit Magic Kingdom Park on a non-party night if you'd like to experience my favorite nighttime spectacular, Happily Ever After.

There are many advantages to staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel for your Halloween visit, Meghan. All Disney Resort hotel Guests can take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry, make advance dining reservations for their entire length of stay 60 days before check-in, and enjoy complimentary transportation to and from the four theme parks.

Every Disney Resort hotel has its own unique personality, and its own Halloween activity offerings, but I'll share my top three picks for your haunted holiday stay. Disney's Contemporary Resort is just a 10-minute walk from Magic Kingdom Park and is on the Monorail loop for convenient travel to EPCOT. The recently updated rooms are Incredible - pun intended! Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is a peaceful paradise on the Disney Skyliner route for easy transport to Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. Disney's Art of Animation Resort, also on the Skyliner route, is colorful and big fun with photo ops at every turn. I encourage you to peruse planDisney's Disney Resort Hotels Pocket Guides as you determine the best match for your family.

Let's continue the conversation soon, Meghan!

    Choose magic,
    Jennifer
