Hello Andrew! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
When my family stayed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, my daughter insisted on "participating" in the
kids-only activity center known as Simba's Cubhouse. We had no intention of signing her up, but the activities, the play-area itself and the idea of a chance to play with other kids without Mom and Dad around to "spoil" her fun, proved too much to resist. We signed her up for a couple of hours one night and that's all she wanted to do for the rest of the trip.
The Cast Members at all
Children's Activity Centers are consummate professionals and do everything they can to make your little one have an Endlessly Magical time during their stay. The Children's Activity Centers have open house hours that allow you to come in with your children, talk with the Cast Members and allow for some time to get a feel for the Center with Mom and Dad in tow. Check with Guest Services or Simba's Cubhouse before your reservation for scheduled Open House times.
Reservations for your cubs are recommended and can be made 180 days in advance by calling (407)939-3463 or at the Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort Hotel Front Desk upon arrival.
If you do make reservations for your little cubs and are unsure on if they will settle, I recommend an Adults-Only Advanced Dining Reservation for Signature Dining at the nearby Jiko - The Cooking Place.
It mixes African, Mediterranean and Indian Cuisine in a setting highlighted by 2 wood-burning ovens and is located only 5 minutes away from Simba's Cubhouse (if you want to check in with your cub).
Have a Magical Vacation!
