Can I book lightening lane rides for a group of 16 if we are all linked? Or should we split up? Will it show availability for the whole group to ride at the same time?

Welcome to Agrabah ... oops, I mean planDisney, Athena!

I see your magical carpet ride to Walt Disney World Resort is just around the corner. You're about to enter a whole new world of fantasy, fun, and laughter. Are you counting down the days in anticipation yet?

I applaud you for taking on the role of magic manager for your party of 16 people. I know from personal experience planning vacations for my large family the amount of time it takes to coordinate plans and create a dream vacation for everyone. It's definitely not as simple as rubbing a magic lamp, so they've truly never had a friend like you! It sounds like y'all want to be one jump ahead of the standby line, and who can blame you? The less time you spend waiting in standby lines, the more time you'll have to spend saving the galaxy from Evil Emperor Zurg, meeting your favorite Disney Princess, snacking around World Showcase ... Thankfully, Disney Genie+ service is the perfect tool to grant your wish.

Before you do anything else, make sure all 16 members of your party are linked and show up in each others' Family & Friends lists in their My Disney Experience accounts. This is super important, because they will not appear on the list of individuals to select when making a Disney Genie+ service Lightning Lane selection if you don't. For a group of 16, your best bet is to compile everyone's information and contact the friendly Cast Members at the My Disney Experience and MagicBands line by calling (407) 939-4357, but I also walked another Guest through the steps recently if you would like to do the linking yourself.

Unfortunately, only up to 12 individuals may be selected at one time when making a Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane selection, so you will need to split up your group. Try dividing your party into two groups with eight individuals in each. Delegate one adult from each group as the Disney Genie+ service "captain." Both group captains can access their Tip Board at the same time to book the next Lightning Lane selection for their group of eight throughout the day. Just make sure each captain selects the same attraction for the same time window (or a time that overlaps with the other group's time window). By using this strategy, it is possible to use Disney Genie+ service to book Lightning Lanes selections for the same attraction at the same time for everyone. However, it's also possible to select different Lightning Lane selections for each group of eight (or even smaller groups) if you all want to split up for a bit. Just make sure each captain selects the attraction their specific group wants to do next.

Remember, the group captains need to be on the Tip Board in their My Disney Experience mobile app at precisely 7:00 a.m. to make the first Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane selection of the day. They can continue booking Lightning Lanes every two hours or after utilizing a selection, whichever comes first. Set a timer as a reminder or simply click on another attraction in your Tip Board to see when your group is eligible to book the next selection (it will pop up with the exact time when you do).

Athena, I hope this helps, but please let me know if you need further clarification.

May all your wishes come true,
