Welcome to planDisney! I don't know about you but I just can't stand waiting in a long line. I truly value my time every day but especially in Walt Disney World. I want to get the most rides and experiences done in the most efficient way possible.
That's why I want you to consider
Disney Genie+. Disney Genie+ is how you can book Lightning Lane reservation times. The Lightning Lane entrance is usually clearly labeled near the entrance to each attraction and the goal is to provide a faster queue experience. You will still wait but it will go much faster. Each morning after midnight you have a chance to purchase Disney Genie+ via the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. The price will vary each day but it ranges from $15 to $35 per person each day. Once purchased you have a chance at 7 AM to book your first Lightning Lane reservation. You could be in bed in your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel getting excited for your day by securing a spot on your favorite ride! The next Lightning Lane is either booked when you use the first one or two hours after the Park opening. If you are worried about when to book your next one just look at the top of the app on the Genie+ page and you will see it noted. My Tip: Always set an alarm for when you can book another experience. You want to book as many Lightning Lanes as you can!
There is another separate product that will get you access to certain attractions via the Lightning Lane entrance. Each of the four Main Theme Parks has at least one attraction which is an
Individual Lightning Lane experience. This is separate from the Lightning Lanes you book through Genie+ as they must be purchased separately. These are usually for the newest and most thrilling rides in the Parks such as
Tron: Lightcycle / Run Presented by Enterprise in Magic Kingdom Park and
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. The price for the Individual Lightning Lane varies each day as well. You can also start booking one right at 7 AM.
Genie+, Lightning Lane reservations, and Individual Lightning Lanes can all run out so book them early and quickly so that your day goes smoothly. If you have any issues with the reservations interfering with a dining reservation just speak with a Cast Member under the big blue umbrellas throughout the park from The Guest Experience Team. They have helped me out so much in the past when I messed up some bookings. Don't forget, none of these can be obtained unless you have a valid Theme Park ticket and
Theme Park Reservation.
