Hi Linda!
Fun fact: Shades of Green was originally a golf club resort! I hear the rooms here are perhaps the most spacious on
Walt Disney World property.
The extended safaris at
Disney's Animal Kingdom are an immersive, unique way to experience the savannah. Unfortunately, these tours have not yet returned since Walt Disney World reopened in the summer of 2020. No announcement has been made on when these
Enchanted Extras will resume. If the
Wild Africa Trek and
Savor the Savannah: Evening Safari return by the time of your trip, you will need to purchase park admission and book a
Disney Park Pass Reservation.
The
Starlight Safari at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is also currently on hiatus, but when it is available no park admission is required.
Do try the standard
Kilimanjaro Safaris if you have not experienced it. I adore giraffes- their big eyes and impressive eyelashes make them so endearing. I am always rewarded with an up close sighting of these towering, beautiful creatures. The number of hippos, zebras, antelope, and elephants you see is stunning and I almost always catch at least a glimpse of a lion. The habitat so resembles the African bush, you will occasionally have to remind yourself you are in Central Florida in a popular theme park.
Enjoy your visit to see Mickey!
