How can I book my kids to do port adventures accompanied by an adult on another reservation, without me (ie let my son ride the banana boat with his uncle or my daughter parasail with her aunt)?

    Ahoy there, Jamie!

Welcome aboard planDisney! It sounds like your crew has some high-flying plans in mind, and I have to say, letting your kids set off on adventures with their aunt and uncle while you possibly sneak away for a little quiet time at Serenity Bay (just guessing) sounds like a win worthy of Captain Jack Sparrow himself.

If you haven’t already done so, your first step will be to make sure your reservations are all linked together so the whole family can share and make plans with each other. You can do this by going into the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app and selecting the “Add Reservation” link. You will need the last name, birthdate, and reservation number for each additional stateroom. After you have linked your reservations, you should be able to add activities with anyone in your group and book those perfect Port Adventures once your activities booking window opens. This step is key because if the reservations aren’t linked, it can feel like trying to solve a puzzle without all the pieces, kind of like Miguel trying to piece together his family history.

Your next step will be to authorize your kids to debark the ship with another adult while in port. You can complete this authorization once your Online Check-In window opens and you fill out the “Traveling with Children” section. In this section, you will select the option to authorize an adult in another stateroom to accompany your kids off the ship. This will ensure they are able to go ashore with the adults of your choosing without you being present. Without this authorization, the Cast Members at the gangway will not allow your child to leave the ship with another adult, even if they’re family, so this is one step you definitely don’t want to skip.

I hope this helps you feel confident as you map out your family’s grand adventures, whether your kids are soaring high above the waves or laughing their way across the water. Wishing your crew a sailing filled with laughter, memory-making, and maybe even a little hakuna matata time for you along the way.

Sea ya real soon as springtime magic carries us from one adventure to the next,
