When can I book for January 2023? Can you still get a meal plan when staying in a value resort? Such as the all star resorts.

Hey there, Kevin! Welcome to planDisney! I’m so happy that you’ve stopped by with your Disney vacation planning question!

Well, if there’s one thing that I LOVE, it’s planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation! I love booking as early as possible to start my planning and my vacation countdown. The excitement builds each day, knowing that we are that much closer to our magical vacation. That’s why I’m so thrilled to answer your question and help you get your excitement and your planning party started!

Walt Disney World Resort vacation packages, which include your Disney Resorts Collection Resort Hotel and theme park tickets, are typically released for the following year in the summer. So, for a vacation in January 2023, look for packages to become available for booking around June. You can check My Disney Experience or keep an eye on Disney Parks Blog for the official announcement of when the 2023 vacation packages will be released. Room-only reservations are available for booking 499 days in advance, so if you’d like to lock down a room reservation now and then call Walt Disney World Resort to change your reservation to a vacation package once available, you can do that today!

Kevin, at this time, the Disney Dining Plan is not available to be added to a vacation package, however since the website states that it is "temporarily unavailable," I will be wishing upon a star that it returns for your January 2023 vacation! If it does once again become available, you would absolutely be able to add one of the Dining Plan options to your vacation package for one of the All-Star Resort Hotels. My favorite Value Resort Hotel is Disney's All-Star Movies Resort. I just adore the theming, the larger-than-life Disney movie characters throughout the Resort, and the renovated rooms. Walking the red carpet in the lobby is how I know my magical vacation has begun!

Kevin, since you are planning your vacation in advance, I'd love to share something that my family and I do before every Disney vacation, in order to get excited and enjoy the anticipation of our upcoming getaway, in hopes that you will enjoy it, too! 101 days before our Walt Disney World Resort vacations, we celebrate our "Dalmatian Day." I decorate the living room in black and white decorations, my daughter and I bake white cupcakes with chocolate chip "spots," and we watch 101 Dalmatians together. It's just one little way to build the excitement of knowing that our next magical adventure is right around the corner!

Kevin, stop by any time with any of your Disney vacation planning questions! Happy planning, friend!

I hope to see ya real soon!
