If I book a hotel and ticket package for Jan 2027 with Disney can I cancel for free if my plans change?

Greetings Kieran and welcome to planDisney!

We never like to think about it, but there is always the chance that something will come up that will put a monkey wrench in the best laid plans!

It that is the case with your plans of a Disney Resort Hotel Package through the Walt Disney Travel Company, the current cancellation policy states that you will receive a full refund if you cancel the package deal at least 30 days before your arrival.  If you cancel between 29 and 2 days before your trip starts, you’ll receive a refund minus a $200 penalty per room.   If you cancel one day or less before your arrival date, the entire amount is non-refundable.  Always check the current cancellation policy, because it is always subject to change.

If you booked through a third-party or had a special offer, there could be additional cancellation fees.  Check the fine print on your reservation for those details.

If there comes a time that you do need to cancel your vacation package, call the Disney Resort Hotel Reservation line to have a friendly Cast Member to assist you with the cancellation.

Even though it is never fun to think about having to change your plans for a possible once in a lifetime trip, the good folks at Disney do make it easy to make those changes, and we don’t even need Mickey’s mousketools to help us!

Kieran, I hope you won’t have to cancel your January visit to the magic! You would actually be visiting during my birthday week, so make sure you enjoy a Mickey Bar or two and maybe sing a few bars of happy birthday to help me celebrate!

As you get closer to your trip and if you have any more questions, planDisney is here to help! Have a magical trip!
