Hi Denise,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your really great question!
To be honest, it depends on what you’re looking to do. Some guests have their eyes set on a specific
Disney Resorts Collection hotel and as soon and they see it available, they book it. While other guests may wait and compare the different types of hotels (
Value,
Moderate, and
Deluxe). Some guests may want to secure their tickets first because they don’t know where they’d like to stay and they want to monitor prices.
The one great thing about booking at the Walt Disney World Resort is that you’re able to book a package deal where you can buy both your tickets and hotel at the same time! If you do this, most of your big planning is basically complete. You can even add
Disney Genie+ Service!
I think one of the major reasons a guest might focus on tickets first is because of
Disney Park Passes. At this time, you need both a valid ticket and Disney Park Pass to enter the Theme Parks for each guest, each day. I like to book my reservations far in advance just so I know I’m able to go to my first choice Theme Park. In my experience, the longer you wait, the riskier it is for you to get the Theme Park you want.
Maybe over the next few days, talk with the members of your party to help you determine your goals of this trip and how you want to spend it. That might help you decide which to purchase first, the hotel or tickets!
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is useful as you compare your options for your fall vacation. If you have any other planning or vacation questions,
