If I book a hotel on the Disney resorts do I have to have a ticket for that day we arrive or can we just explore around and attended Disney for a full day the following day?

    Hi Kelsey,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for taking the time to visit us with your great question.  I am glad to see you are taking the time to plan your visit prior to your arrival, I have always said that a little pre-planning makes our visits even more magical!

One of the many reasons I love visiting Walt Disney World Resort is how we are able to customize our vacation to best suit our needs.  If you choose a Walt Disney World Resort Vacation Package, you will be able to select your preferred Disney Resorts Collection Hotel as well as how many days of Theme Park Tickets you would like.  You are free to use your Theme Park Tickets within the window that they are valid, and those days will be stated on your Theme Park Tickets at the time of purchase.  I like to make sure I have a few days to enjoy our Resort, so we rarely ever purchase a Theme Park Ticket for every day of our vacation.

When we visit, I like to spend our travel days exploring our Resort, and visiting Disney Springs.  That way we wake up refreshed the following day and visit a Theme Park instead of feeling rushed and tired in the Theme Parks on our first day.  There are so many great experiences available to guests outside of the Theme Parks, I am sure you will be able to fill up your day without visiting a Theme Park.  Depending on your Resort, you could make an Advanced Dining Reservation and even take in the fireworks from a far.

I hope you make some wonderful memories during your Walt Disney World Resort Vacation, Kelsey.  If you have any other questions, please come back and visit us again at planDisney, we are always happy to help.
