Can you book a genie plus ride at another park with the new park hopper anytime feature? Example: if you have a park reservation for Epcot. Once you scan in, can you book a genie plus ride for Hollywood Studios while still in Epcot? Hope this makes sense

Hi there, Janai! Thanks for hopping by planDisney with your vacation planning question! Park hopping is even more magical in 2024 with the return of all-day access, and it sounds like you are here for the fun! I definitely think using Genie+ to maximize your time in multiple parks is a smart strategy, so let's jump right into your question!

Genie+ is a paid service that allows guests access to Lightning Lane entrances for certain attractions throughout all four Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks, so you can spend less time waiting in line and more time exploring the magic all around you! When you choose to purchase Genie+ for the day through your My Disney Experience mobile app, you will have the option to select one theme park or to select multiple parks if you are park hopping.

When you select the multiple parks option, you are eligible at 7 AM to make your first selection for any theme park for which you have a valid admission - so you may choose to book an attraction for any park, regardless of which park you are visiting first. In my own experience using Genie+ while park hopping, we started in Magic Kingdom Park and selected several attractions there for the earlier part of the day. Once we tapped into our most recent selection, we opted to start stacking Lightning Lanes at Disney's Hollywood Studios, where we would be hopping to that evening. By the time we left Magic Kingdom, we had three attractions stacked and ready at Hollywood Studios. We hopped, rode, and then hopped back to Magic Kingdom for the fireworks show!

Remember when utilizing Genie+, you may make your first selection right at 7 AM, and your next selection will be two hours after the park opens, or after you have redeemed your most recent selection (whichever happens first). I recommend setting an alarm on your phone to remind you a few minutes before it's time to choose your next attraction to make the most of the Genie+ service.

Janai, I also want to remind you as you plan that certain attractions are not offered through Genie+; for these attractions, you may choose to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane entry for an additional fee if you would like to bypass the standby line. The current attractions available for Individual Lightning Lane purchase are:

    • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle/Run (also available through a Virtual Queue) at Magic Kingdom Park
    • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney's Hollywood Studios
    • Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park
    • Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT (also available through a Virtual Queue)
No matter how you choose to stack your Lightning Lanes, you are in for a magical day of park hopping! I hope this helps you to be prepared when the time comes to make your selections! If you have any additional vacation planning questions, feel free to come back and ask again! Like the genie, you've got a friend in me!

    See you real soon,
