Hi there, Christine! Welcome to
planDisney, and thank you so much for bringing us your question. I'm so happy to see you here!
If you plan to stay at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort (or any
Disney Resorts Collection hotel for that matter) and you want to book a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation package, the minimum amount of days that you'll be able to purchase Theme Park tickets for will be two days. So if you're only planning on visiting the Theme Parks for one day, you will need to book your hotel and your tickets separately.
That being said, you'll be happy to know that this will not affect your
Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Single Pass, or Premier Pass booking window! Since you'll still be staying at a Disney hotel, you will be able to start making selections up to seven days in advance of your trip.
So, we have established that you definitely don't need to book a package in order to take advantage of the extended booking window. However, since you're already planning on spending a full week at the Walt Disney World Resort anyway, why don't you visit the Theme Parks for two days instead of one? This way, you'll be able to see and do so much more. But even if you don't end up taking my advice, I just know that you're going to have the most magical time.
I sincerely hope this helps, Christine! If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us here at planDisney. We're always available and more than happy to help!
Warm hugs,
Ana Paula
