When you book FOLK Tier 1 with a 5:30PM show. When is the Festival of the Lion King show and when is the Safari? I'm not sure I can find anything that tells me the exact timing...

    Hi Amanda!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you so much for asking this great Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question to us hEAR! I'm not going to lie, just looking up the links for this answer has me singing "Oh I just can't wait .... to see the Festival of the Lion King!"

The Tier 1 Festival of the Lion King Signature Dining Package is an amazing offer, not only in terms of monetary value, but because you can pretty much save two advance FastPass+ selections for other attractions since this bundle includes reserved VIP seats for both the stage show and a special edition of the Kilimanjaro Safari Tour. Also neat, the VIP seats for the Festival of the Lion King are so close to the action that not only will you get amazing photos, someone from your group may even be selected to 'help out' during the performance too!

Typically with this package, especially with a lunch or early afternoon booking, you'll dine first and during your meal will be given VIP credentials for both activities with an assigned time to see the Festival of the Lion King show. The Cast Members at Tiffins Restaurant do this to provide plenty of time (at least 90 minutes) for you to enjoy your Signature three-course meal without feeling rushed, and they select the next show that is due to start after you've finished. For an example, I know someone who scheduled a 12:15 P.M. lunch and they were assigned to a 3:00 P.M. Lion King showing. Also typically, the half-hour stage show is before the safari as a Cast Member from the theater escorts the VIPs literally from their first row bench to their reserved tour vehicle, with a potty break in-between.

But for guests who schedule dining reservations from the mid-afternoon on, things get kind of flipped due to there only being so many Festival of the Lion King Performance Times per day. (You can find those times listed on this Entertainment Schedule, but heads up, the calendar currently only goes through August.) So for your Disney Day, Amanda, you'll check-in with the host stand at Tiffins and that's when you'll be assigned your show time with the safari to follow. Check-in starts at 11:00 A.M., and technically the Noon, 1:00 P.M., 2:30 P.M. and 3:30 P.M. shows are really the only ones that will mesh up with your party being able to fit everything in before your dining reservation. While not knowing a specific show time right now doesn't help much in being able to make other plans between check-in and your dining reservation, I bet you could request a specific show time at check-in, or you could probably even check-in a little bit later in the day to guarantee that your only options are the later shows. And should any of your previously scheduled FastPass+ plans be during your assigned VIP time, the Guest Relations team would love to help you adjust things around a bit.

I hope this helped to clEAR things up, Amanda, and if you have any more Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning questions, We're All Ears!
