Hello Connie!
Welcome to planDisney! There is lots of talk and buzz about
Genie+, Disney’s newest digital tool to enhance your theme park day! While I have yet to use it myself, we plan to try it out on our next trip!
You’ll be happy to know that you won’t need to wait until that late time to book a second Genie+ attraction. And you’ve used a perfect example in your question. If the first Genie+ attraction you choose is very popular and your return time isn’t until much later in the day, you won’t need to wait until that late return time to schedule a second Genie+ attraction. There is a two-hour rule, similar to what used to exist in the old days of paper FastPass. You’ll be able to schedule a second Genie+, two hours after the park opens, (not after 7 AM) rather than waiting for that later return time. So in theory, you can hold more than one Genie+ selection at the same time.
For your specific example, if the park opens at 9 AM, and you select your first Genie+ attraction at 7 AM, but your return time for the attraction is at 2 PM, you’ll be able to select another Genie+ attraction at 11 AM, which is two hours after park opening. The two-hour window continues to roll forward. So let’s say at 11 AM you use Genie+ and book another attraction for 6 PM. You’ll then be able to book another Genie+ attraction two hours later at 1 PM. But if you can book an attraction earlier, let’s say at 11 AM you book an attraction for 12:30 PM, once you experience that attraction, you should be able to book another. Please know that when you select your Genie+ attractions you will only be offered the next available time, you won’t be able to select from multiple times. But for very popular attractions the earliest return time could be far out, this is when that 2-hour window will be important. Pro TIP: Set an alarm on your phone so you don’t miss that time!
I hope this helps explain the process a bit better, Connie! Wishing you a magical visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort!- Kate
