Can you book fast pass in advance of your stay like you can in Florida? If staying at a Disney resort you can book 60 days prior to your stay? Is it the same in California Disney?

Greetings, Rachel and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am so glad you are looking to travel across the pond and across the United States to visit Mickey and the gang at the "Happiest Place on Earth." Disneyland Resort is very different from Walt Disney World Resort in many ways but just as magical. One of the main differences is making FASTPASS selections verses FastPass+ selection.

At Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, you may use Disney FASTPASS Service only on the day you visit the theme parks. There is no 30-day or 60-day window to make FASTPASS selections prior to entry. The service is available to all Guests and there are two enchanted ways to help minimize the time in attraction lines.

First is to use In-Park FASTPASS distribution points. These kiosks are just like the ones used at Walt Disney World Resort prior to MyMagic+. To receive a FASTPASS selection just insert your valid theme park admission ticket or Annual Passport into the FASTPASS machine and a paper reminder will pop out with your return window. To enter the attraction FASTPASS entrance, just scan your valid theme park admission ticket or Annual Passport.

Second is to use Disney MaxPass feature on the Disneyland mobile app. After downloading the app, linking your valid tickets or pass, and entering the theme park, open the app and select “Get FASTPASS with Disney MaxPass.” When your window opens, head to the FASTPASS entrance and scan your mobile device. Easy Peasy. Disney MaxPass does cost $15 per day, per ticket (price subject to change). Disney MaxPass can be purchased with tickets from the Disneyland Resort website or added to your existing ticket when you enter the theme park. The convenience of Disney MaxPass is that you do not have to find FASTPASS distribution points. You can book from anywhere and with Park Hopper Tickets you can make selections for attractions in both theme parks.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion.

Disney Dad Tip: World of Color and Fantasmic! have FASTPASS and can be selected even when you have other FASTPASS selections. These are limited so make sure to get yours early in the day.

Rachel, enjoy making many Magical Memories.
