Hello, If I book a Disney World hotel room for let’s say 18 nights, can I add a guest if they want to check in later and stay 14 nights? Thank you

    Hi there, Helen!

I'd like to extend a warm welcome back to planDisney. Thank you for returning with another fantastic Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question! I'm excited for the opportunity to help you plan your next holiday at The Most Magical Place on Earth. The only thing better than an extended stay at the Walt Disney World Resort is sharing it with friends and family. Now, let's prepare to book your Disney Resort hotel reservation!

Helen, it's wonderful to hear you're considering adding your friend or family member to your Resort hotel reservation for part of your stay. I have personal experience with this, as sometimes schedules don't quite align perfectly and folks are only able to join for part of an already-planned vacation! Not to worry - I'm happy to inform you that you're welcome to add a Guest to your room-only Disney Resort hotel reservation, even if they'll only be joining you for a partial stay. In these cases, I recommend including your special Guest at the time you book your original Resort hotel reservation instead of waiting to add your Guest later on. Helen, keep in mind that most standard Disney Resort hotel room rates (excluding Disney Vacation Club Resort Villas and Family Suites) are priced to include two adults (age 18+), even if the room sleeps more than two adults. Please note that if you'll have more than two adults staying in your room, you'll be charged an "Additional Adult" fee that varies based on Resort hotel tier.

It's important to keep in mind that, if you'll be booking a vacation package or taking advantage of the 2024 Early Booker Package, each Guest on the booking will receive the same theme park ticket type. If your Guest doesn't want to purchase theme park tickets or wants to purchase a different ticket type, then I recommend booking your trip as a room-only Resort hotel reservation. However, if you're hoping to explore the theme parks together during your vacation, then I encourage you to check out the current special offer which includes 14-Day Disney Magic Tickets for the price of 7-day tickets! Not to mention, when you book an Early Booker Package, you'll receive special incentives like a Dining & Merchandise Credit and a Disney Gift Card.

Helen, I hope this information helps you prepare to book an enchanting escape to The Most Magical Place on Earth. Feel free to return to planDisney with any additional planning questions you might have! We're all ears.

    See ya real soon,

    Lauren
