Hey there! Hi there, Nick! I am thrilled to welcome you to planDisney as you prepare for a grand adventure around the world.
Planning a vacation at
Walt Disney World Resort can take many forms. There are trips I plan with a year on the horizon, and I have been known to make a spontaneous stop at the Most Magical Place on Earth on a whim. Regardless of how the opportunity presents itself, you don't have to wait to start planning. How you go about making arrangements, however, can change based on where you are in your trip from Australia.
If you are still at home, you'll need to use an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner to assist you with any
hotel reservations or
tickets. You can usually find options for travel agents with an online search engine. Just make sure to include "Authorized Disney Vacation Planner" in your search terms to find someone who has the credentials and experience to earn this mark from Disney.
If your Magic Carpet has already soared across the ocean and landed in the United States, you can make travel arrangements online. From the US, you can
purchase a hotel package that includes your resort stay, theme park tickets, and the option to add a
Disney dining plan,
Memory Maker, and/or travel protection, depending on your needs. Vacation packages booked further in advance require a deposit upon booking, with the final balance due 30 days before arrival. With a trip scheduled for next week, the entire amount would be due at the time of booking.
If you are only visiting the parks and do not plan to stay at
Walt Disney World Resort, you have a few options to purchase theme park tickets once you are in the US. You can
buy them online before your arrival, or if you prefer to wait until the day of your trip, you can stop by
Guest Relations at the entrance to any of the four theme parks to buy them in person.
Be sure to download the
My Disney Experience app. You can use the app to set up
Disney MagicMobile to access your theme park tickets from your cell phone. If you bought them online, this saves you from having to visit Guest Relations to get a physical card for your tickets. The app also helps you navigate the parks throughout the day, with features such as attraction wait times, maps,
mobile food ordering, and many others.
Nick, I hope you get everything arranged for a magical time at Walt Disney World! If you have any other questions, please come see us again at

Magic Awaits!
