Hi Sunny, welcome home and welcome to planDisney! As
Disney Vacation Club members, we have exclusive access to some of the best Resort hotels across Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and the Disney Beach Resorts! Now, let’s talk through how you can book a DVC villa as a DVC member.
There are two main options for booking a DVC villa as a Member. First, you can
contact Member Services and DVC Cast Members can book a Resort villa on your behalf once you verify your Membership credentials. Here are a few reminders when booking a DVC villa. You can generally make reservations for a DVC villa up to 11 months in advance of your arrival. However, for stays 7 through 11 months in advance of your arrival, you can only book stays at your Home Resort. This is known as the
Home Resort Priority Period. For stays less than 7 months from your anticipated arrival, you can select any DVC Resort that you are eligible to book.
Alternatively, you can make reservations for a DVC villa through the
DVC website. In order to do so, you would first need to log in to your account, assuming you have an account created (if one is not yet created, you’ll have to contact Member Services to create an account). Select “Sign In or Create A MyDisney Account” and input your credentials. From there, you can select the date range, room types, and DVC Resorts you are interested in searching for availability. Once entered, select “Check Availability”. If there is availability for the Resort and room type for the dates you selected, you can follow the prompts to proceed with completing your reservation.
If there’s no availability that matches your criteria, don’t fret! You have the opportunity to
create a waitlist for a particular Resort and room type for your desired dates. In order to do so, select the greyed out dates on the calendar for the Resort and room type you are interested in and select “Continue to Waitlist” and follow the prompts to complete the waitlist request. You can have up to two waitlists per Membership. Sunny, here’s a bonus tip! If you see several days of your desired travel available to book, I highly recommend booking those dates and submitting a waitlist request for the remaining dates. Should your waitlist get fulfilled, Member Services can combine the reservations into one reservation number, so long as each reservation is for the same exact Resort and room type.
Sunny, I hope this information is helpful for you as you explore booking a DVC villa. If you have any further questions on getting the most out of your DVC membership, please feel free to
contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Sean
