Hey Howdy Hey Brian and welcome to planDisney!
Planning a trip to
Walt Disney World Resort can take some time to plan out many of the details. One huge time saver can be utilizing the expertise of a travel agent that specializes in planning trips to Walt Disney World. They can do s much for you and lighten the load of planning so you can enjoy the fun a little more! Thank you for your question about booking your trip and your travel agent's future involvement. I've got you covered for the answers!
When it comes to having your travel agent get the credit for your booking if you were the one to make the reservation, it depends. The biggest factor would be the time frame you make your reservation and when your travel agent puts in the request to Disney to take over the reservation. Disney only allows this to happen in a narrow window. I would double-check with your travel agent or the agency in general for that specific window if that is something you wanted to ensure, that your agent gets the credit for your reservation. If your agent can put in the request to take over your reservation then you are all set and they can make the appropriate changes to your reservation as needed. There is also another option you may want to look into.
The other option that some agencies will offer is the ability for agents to make all of your plans and such on trips they do not book. This option does come with a fee and some can either have a blanket charge or charge by the day you want them to look into various reservations and such. That information might be available on their website for you to take a look at if you wanted. But again, those options are usually an extra fee, rather, if they were the agents that were in charge of the reservation, all that extra would be included at no cost.
As you continue to plan for your upcoming trip, I just wanted to pass along some information on some recent announcements of a couple of highly anticipated attractions opening soon!
