Hi there,
Welcome back to planDisney! Megan, thank you so much for visiting again. I will be happy to help with this request for the special birthday girl. So many things have changed over the years at
Walt Disney World, and they will continue to change as Walt always wanted. The one thing that has not changed is people celebrating their birthday at “The Most Magical Place on Earth.”
There are so many special ways to celebrate these annual milestones. One of the easiest is always going to be ordering a cake with your advanced dining reservation. During the process of finding a reservation for one of the many restaurants on your
My Disney Experience App, you will have an option to order a cake for the table. This is a very popular way to celebrate, and the cake is a Mickey Mouse celebration cake that resembles everyone’s favorite pal. 60 days before your arrival you’ll be able to start finding reservations for your visit.
Another way to commemorate this visit is purchasing
Memory Maker. This gives you a chance to stop at every location where you see a PhotoPass Cast Member, you can get your photo taken without having to do the selfie arm thing. You won’t have to ask a stranger, although park goers are usually happy to help. You can just wait in line and get your iconic picture in front of
Cinderella Castle. This will also capture your photos on certain attractions, you will also be able to take as many pictures as you like with your favorite characters. If you really want to make this a special occasion, you can purchase the
Capture Your Moment package. These 20-minute photo sessions give you time with your own photographer at a location inside of your favorite park. If you decide to do this, the best part about Memory Maker is all of your photographs will be downloadable, and you will not have to spend another dime.
If you are looking for something a little off the beaten path from your typical attractions and shows, finding some Enchanting Extras for you to enjoy might be a great idea. If you are at
EPCOT, and you enjoy Living with the Land, you may want to try the Behind the Seeds tour. This takes you behind the scenes of the attraction Living with the Land. It gives you more details on how the food is grown in special ways. If you are at
Animal Kingdom, I would suggest Caring for Giants. This tour is a walking tour for about an hour. You will learn about elephants and how they are cared for by the team at Animal Kingdom. You get as close as about 80 to 100 feet. It really gives you perspective on the size of these gentle giants.
The last and a very important recommendation is make sure she wears a celebration Birthday pin! This pin is probably the most known, but often forgotten birthday celebration option. This pin might get her more than a few happy birthday wishes, but the meals or interactions with Cast Members might have some extra pixie dust to sprinkle on her day. Ask any Cast Member at your front desk of your lobby or when you first arrive to the park.
I hope you have an excellent time celebrating her, and that one of these options work for your group. Head back to
planDisney again with any other questions.
See ya real soon,
Jeremy A.
