We are going to book a Disney Private VIP Tour for our trip in September. This will be our first Disney Private VIP Tour at Walt Disney World Resort! Do you have any tips for us to make the most of this experience?

Hiya Jennifer - welcome to planDisney!

Wow - get ready to have one of the most magical experiences of all time! Disney Private VIP Tours at the Walt Disney World Resort give you and your closest crew a personalized dose of pixie dust wherever you go. I've been fortunate to have experienced a few of these magical adventures recently and I'm happy to share some insight as you prepare for your magical day.

VIP Tour Guides are some of the most caring and knowledgeable Cast Members to grace the Theme Parks and your guide will be the heart of the magic you'll experience. My favorite aspect of Disney Private VIP Tours is that you can be in charge with a to-do list or you can sit back and let your VIP Tour Guide, well, guide! My best advice is to think about some important experiences you'd like to have, but also be sure to save some time for your VIP Tour Guide to take you on some of their favorite adventures too.

There is magic around every corner, and while the ability to experience attractions more efficiently is definitely a highlight of these tours, it surprised me how much I loved just talking with our VIP Tour Guide and learning the details and stories behind everything in the park. In that same vein, I think this is a good opportunity for you to take off your vacation planning Mickey Ears and just let yourself experience everything around you. Your VIP Tour Guide is essentially the My Disney Experience Mobile App in human form, so take this rare opportunity to put away your phones and just live in the moment. It really is a different experience, in such a good way!

Jennifer, before I sign off I do have one piece of logistical advice. Disney Private VIP Tours don't last forever, so I like to try and avoid time-consuming activities that might make me feel like I'm not making the most of the time we have with our VIP Tour Guide. For me, that's Table Service dining. While I'm sure VIP Tour Guides are wonderful dining guests, sitting around for an hour or so at a restaurant isn't how I like to use my special time with them. For that reason, I don't recommend making dining reservations for during your tour.

Instead, I would start the day with my favorite Character Dining experience - Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends at Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera, located at Disney's Riviera Resort. After breakfast, you'd be whisked away in true VIP style in your private chariot to start your adventures in the Theme Parks!

I hope this information has been helpful, Jennifer. You're going to love this experience!
