Ahoy there Sana, and welcome to planDisney. I agree with you; sailing on a Disney Cruise Line ship would be a relaxing addition to the summer. Here is why you cannot see a ship departing from San Diego after May 9, 2024.
On May 9, 2024, the Disney Wonder repositions from beautiful southern California in San Diego to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The summer months are when this ship is dedicated to Alaskan Cruise itineraries. There is no other ship on the California Coast at that time. If you want to sail out of San Diego, CA, then you will need to look at the Disney Wonder itineraries out of San Diego beginning in late March 23, 2024.
If you are looking for adventure this summer, you have a few choices depending on how long a voyage you want. You may consider Disney Vacations by Land and Sea if you leave out of Port Canaveral. Here are some suggetions for cruises departing in the United States and Canada:
- 3-Night or 4-Night Bahamian Cruise from Port Canaveral, Florida - Disney Wish
- 5-Night Western Caribbean Cruise from Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Disney Magic
- 7-Night Alaskan Cruise from Vancouver - Disney Wonder
- 10-Night Southern Caribbean Cruise from Port Canaveral - Disney Fantasy
Of course, the
Disney Dream is sailing in Europe and the itinerary is magnificent. Personally, the 11-Night Mediterranean with Greek Isles Cruise from Civitavecchia (Rome) Ending in Barcelona was one of the best vacations we have ever taken.
Sana, I hope this information helps you get afloat for some summer cruising with Captain Mickey and his crew. Please feel free to
write me back directly with any follow-up questions or for other Disney vacation planning tips.
Enjoy making many Magical Memories on the High Seas.
