Ahoy there, Donna! Welcome aboard planDisney! It sounds like someone's DREAMing of a potential graduation present, gap-year extravaganza, or just an incredible vacation of a lifetime aboard one of the Disney Cruise Line ships! Whatever the reason, that's definitely a planDrew-approved plan!
When it comes to the minimum age for booking a stateroom on a sailing, we set our heading directly toward the
Disney Cruise Line Terms and Conditions. A Guest must be at least 18 years old to sail unaccompanied, otherwise, minors under age 18 who are not accompanied by a parent or guardian must be accompanied by someone at least 21 years old in the same stateroom.
It's also important to note that Guests ages 18 and up are also welcome to enjoy any of the
adult-exclusive spaces onboard the ship, including the
Quiet Cove Pool, nightclubs, lounges, and
Senses Spa & Salon, however, be aware that Disney Cruise Line does adhere to an alcohol policy and will only serve those of legal drinking age in the embarkation port.
Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the 1820 Society! This is a special set of activities geared for, you guessed it, young adults between 18- and 20-years-old to give them a chance to meet one another and make connections. I know my younger brother really enjoyed the opportunity to connect with some other "in-betweeners" on some of our cruises before he turned 21! The
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app is a great way to keep track of these events and to be sure you don't miss out on any of the action!
Otherwise, all you have to do is keep to the code, and it'll be smooth sailing for any 18-year-old wishing to become a Castaway aboard Disney Cruise Line! Thanks so much for your question, Donna, and if you think of any others as you continue planning, please send me another message in a bottle!
Fair winds and following seas!
Andrew
