Can I book a Disney Cruise for 2 people today without placing a placeholder and later add a third person, an infant (who'll be 8 months at time of trip)?

Ahoy there, Chakisha. and thanks for sailing our way here at planDisney!

Ah, it looks like congratulations are in order! How wonderful that your Disney Cruise Line vacation will be filled with all the exciting things for families to enjoy! If I start to say, "Mirror Mirror on the wall..." and talking in the third-person, I promise there's a reason: my family did almost the exact same thing a while back - right down to the month!

My wife and I almost always have a cruise planned because it's easier to accept one Disney Cruise Line vacation is coming to an end if you have another one to look forward to! When we found out we were expecting an addition, we were super excited to realize the cruise we had just been planning could be our new crew member's first - so I know how exciting it is to get a head start on DREAMing with this in mind!

I can tell you that the best way to add what we affectionately called our "TBD Sailor" was to call a Disney Cruise Line crew member directly! They were able to help us to book the itinerary we had planned and add our "TBD Sailor" to the reservation with just a deposit required! When our son arrived (at the time we made the reservation we didn't know whether we were having a prince or princess!) we called back with our reservation number and the crew member updated his information. It was probably the second easiest thing we've ever done while planning - the easiest being deciding to go in the first place!

As someone who took many cruises as an adult without children, planning my first with our son has been an incredible change of pace! While we haven't stopped looking forward to adult-exclusive activities like spending time in the Quiet Cove Pool, enjoying a romantic dinner at Palo or Remy, or enjoying one of the many lounges and nightclubs, we are so excited to experience spaces we haven't spent much time in before!

We can't wait for our little sailor to splash around in Nemo's Reef, visit open houses at Disney's Oceaneer Club, meet characters all around the ship, and more! Oh, and I hope Jack-Jack's Diaper Dash will come back by the time you sail! Speaking of things that aren't currently available, the "it's a small world" nursery falls into that category right now, but be sure to keep an eye on the "Know Before You Go" information as your sailing gets closer for reopening details - a lot can change between now and February 2023!

I hope you have so much fun planning with this new adventure on the horizon, Chakisha! Know there will be changing tides as you chart this course, but I'll be wishing for smooth sailing for you and yours every step of the way! If you find yourself needing a heading as you continue your journey, please come find us at planDisney again - I promise we won't leave you adrift!

Until then, may your anchor be tight and your compass true!
