How do I book a Disney cruise with my dvc points?

    Ahoy, Kurt!

Welcome to planDisney.  If you ask me, a voyage with Disney Cruise Line is just about as magical as it gets –– while this is an experience I've gotten to enjoy YET, it's at the very tip-top of my Disney dream list.  In fact, my fellow Panelist, Adrianna H., just finished up a 13-night transatlantic cruise aboard the Disney Magic, and following along with her family's adventures has me more excited than ever before.  How cool that you're thinking of using your Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points to set sail with Disney Cruise Line –– it sounds like waves of Membership magic are headed your way!

In order to use your Vacation Points to book a voyage with Disney Cruise Line, you'll need to give Member Services a call at (800) 800-9800 to begin the booking process.  In general, the booking window for sailing opens as soon as the Points Charts for Disney Cruise Line are published on the Disney Vacation Club website, which typically happens around the same time that Disney Cruise Line releases its future itineraries.  From that point, you'll be able to book a cruise using your DVC Points up to 14 days before your sail date.

Booking a Disney Collection Exchange with Disney Vacation Club, like sailing with Disney Cruise Line, works a little bit differently than booking normal DVC reservations, so I'd like to share a few details for you to keep in mind.  Each Disney Collection Exchange reservation is subject to a $95 non-refundable transaction fee, due at the time your reservation is confirmed.  Reservations are also subject to the Rule of Four, which means that they can't be booked during the last four months of your Use Year, if you'll be traveling during the same year.  And finally, keep in mind that sailings are subject to availability and occasionally, some sailings are not available right when the booking window opens.  If you're hoping to make reservations for one of those sailings, the Member Services Cast Member you speak with should be able to give you more information about when booking will become available.

Thanks for visiting planDisney, Kurt.  I hope this helped to answer your question, but if you need more information or think of something new, please feel free to drop back in –– we're always here to help!
