Ahoy there Hayley and welcome to planDisney!
After living and working all across Australia myself, it's so great to be able to connect with adventurous Aussies as they prepare to embark on Disney Cruise Line! The
upcoming Disney Magic at Sea sailings are something that so many of us are eagerly looking forward to, and you can bet that so many others will have similar questions before they board.
As you may know, there were very
specific and stringent requirements and protocols surrounding cruise ship travel which were strictly adhered to by Disney Cruise Line around the world. I spoke with a Disney Cruise Line Cast Member about the current situation and they confirmed to me that while requirements are much more relaxed at the present time, they take the lead of the countries of each Home Port; in this case the Australian Department of Health currently recommends but does not require proof of vaccination in order to sail. I highly recommend checking back for any changes or updates as they can change rapidly as we've personally experienced; in fact as with any policies on board they are always subject to change without prior notice so it's always best to be prepared and be aware of
current health and safety policies that may apply.
I personally love sailing on the
Disney Wonder and have traversed much of the Pacific waters as she braved the waves. I can say from personal experience that the Tasman Sea can be a bit temperamental and unrelenting at times, so anyone still earning their sea legs should be well prepared in the event of active swells! Check out our
planDisney Pocket Guide to the Disney Wonder and don't hesitate to
come back again for another dose of nautical knowledge ahead of your voyage!
Here's to happy, healthy holidays on the high seas!
