Ahoy there, Julie! Welcome aboard the decks of planDisney!
Seeing someone planning for a crew of 11 sure fills my sails! It's a WONDERful experience just being aboard one of the
Disney Cruise Line ships, and spending it with as many family members or friends as possible really makes it a DREAM come true! While it may seem like a FANTASY to have 10 crewmates join you, I assure you there's no need to WISH for a MAGIC spell to accommodate everyone on your vacation! I've got good news for you, so let's weigh anchor and get underway!
The first thing you should know is that in my opinion, there's no such thing as a bad stateroom on the Disney Cruise Line fleet! Every room is an amazing home away from home on the high seas! That said, staterooms fall into one of four main categories, with small variations within each category as well: Inside, Oceanview, Oceanview with Verandah, and Concierge. Rooms vary slightly from ship to ship, so I highly suggest you check the
Stateroom Overviews for the Disney Magic,
Disney Wonder,
Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and
Disney Wish to get an idea of what the major differences are!
For your crew, the good news is each type of stateroom can sleep at least three to four guests, and many, like the Deluxe Family Oceanview Staterooms, sleep up to five, depending on which ship you select! On my recent trip on the Disney Wish, we had a Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah that slept five with a queen bed, two twin berths, and a murphy bed! That's a lot of crewmates! Oh, and there's one more planDrew-approved tip: remember that you can book up to four staterooms on a single reservation, but remember there must be an adult in every stateroom!
So depending on the makeup of your crew, you could divide into any number of staterooms, as long as there is an adult responsible for the little sailors in each! For the most comfort, I'd say you're looking at at least three staterooms of any type, but depending on who's willing to take top bunk you may want to look at booking four - but that's totally up to you! I know I'm always game to sleep in a small top bunk, but that may not be everyone's idea of a good time.
Oh, and remember, if any children will be traveling without a legal guardian, be sure to fill out the
Authorization For Minor To Travel Without a Parent or Legal Guardian Form, which allows an adult other than the parent or legal guardian to retain care, custody and control of a child during a Disney Cruise Line vacation!
Well, Julie I hope that gives you a few ideas as you begin to chart this course for your cruise! Thank you so much for your question, and if you have any others as you explore your stateroom options, please sail my way again here at planDisney!
Fair winds and following seas!
