Hi Michelle! We are so happy you found your way to planDisney. December is certainly one of the
merriest times of the year to be in the parks! While some of the holiday surprises are still under wraps, we have recently been gifted the news that both the "
Believe ... In Holiday Magic" fireworks and "
World of Color - Seasons of Light" will once again light up the nights at the Disneyland Resort!
We are planners at heart over here, so we love to see a fellow Guest thinking ahead! The holidays are a popular time to visit, so you are smart to be ready to book those tickets and
theme park reservations once they are available. While you can purchase tickets now and even book a
hotel reservation or
vacation package for December, the
theme park reservation calendar will open up 120 days out from each of your park days, which will be mid-August. If you decide to purchase tickets or book a package ahead of time, you can make "placeholder" reservations which would need to be canceled and rescheduled once those December dates open up. Otherwise, you can hold off and purchase the tickets in mid-August. If you are looking for multi-day tickets, you would need to wait until your full window is available to make reservations all at one time. If you are nervous about doing that, it's OK to make tentative reservations for some earlier days in December and then cancel and rebook each of your actual dates as they open up one by one!
While reservations are subject to availability, canceling and rescheduling them is fairly easy through the
Disneyland Mobile App. Once you open the app, navigate to the three-bar menu in the bottom right-hand corner. Select "Future Plans" and tap into the day you would like to change. "Cancel Reservation" and follow the prompts until the cancellation is confirmed, then just begin the reservation booking process from the beginning by selecting your new date.
To get excited about your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth during the holly jolly holidays, take a listen to Episode 3 of that
planDisney Podcast! My fellow panelists are giving out all the tips for the season ahead! And be sure to make time to swing into the lobby of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa while you are in the parks. The
7-foot gingerbread house will be making its grand return this year and is an absolute must-see! Stay tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog and the
