Hi, we want to book a 7 or 10 day stay in Dec 2014. Will have a 7yo boy and 1yo girl. When is the best time to book res for then? I know they do come out with deals either DDP or room disc. Should I book now and add the disc when it comes up?

    Hi Erin,

I am always impressed with guests who like to plan far in advance. (You and I are birds of a feather!)  It gives you plenty of time to anticipate the vacation of a lifetime.  There is certainly no more beautiful time to visit the Disney theme parks and resorts than December!

Since the vacation you are planning is two years away, it is a little early to make reservations.  What I recommend to guests is to book your trip nine to twelve months in advance regardless whether special promotions are available at the time you book.  Pick the resort of your dreams and put a deposit on a room.  Work with a Disney-savvy travel agent who will help you follow the release of special promotions that might apply to your travel dates.  If an enticing offer is released (such as free dining), have your travel agent update your reservation to reflect the new promotion.  Remember to act fast because the offers typically only have a limited number of rooms available that qualify for the special rate.

Let us know as your trip approaches if there is any further advice we may provide.  The Moms Panel just loves helping guests plan memorable and magical family vacations.

    Best wishes,
    Jill
