Hello! Can we still book cruise transportation from MCO even though we will not be arriving on a flight the same day of the cruise? Thanks,SS

Ahoy there, Sacha! I'm so glad that you decided to come sail away with us at planDisney. An adventure at sea with Disney Cruise Line is always a great idea, and I'll be a loyal first mate as we chat about transportation for your sailing. Let's dive right in!

Every time I've sailed with my family, we've departed from Port Canaveral. The proximity to Orlando makes it easy to tack on some time at Walt Disney World Resort or explore more of Central Florida before your cruise. Although many folks recommend enjoying the "land" part of your vacation first and then relaxing at sea, we have done the reverse on more than one occasion. I felt like we arrived at The Most Magical Place on Earth post-cruise rested and ready to enjoy the parks!

I'm happy to report that you can add ground transfers departing from the Orlando International Airport to your cruise reservation even if you're not flying in on departure day. I recommend calling sooner rather than later to ensure there is availability. We typically stay at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport the night before our cruise--it gives me peace of mind to come in early in case of flight delays or bad weather. The hotel is actually in the airport and makes for great people-watching! We love to spend some time at the rooftop pool watching planes come and go, and they have solid dining options so you can have a hearty breakfast before heading to the port.

Even if you're staying elsewhere, it's super easy to catch a ride to the airport so you can board your DCL transportation to Port Canaveral. Proceed to Side B, Level 1, and follow the signs for Ground Transportation. It should be easy to spot the Disney Cruise Line area. The shuttles to the port depart every half-hour or so--when you arrive, just check in with the Cast Members and they'll have you on your way soon.

Sacha, I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney, and don't hesitate to come back anytime if our crew can help with any other questions to make your vacation magical.
