Hi, if I book a cruise now that isn't until December, but I find out that I am pregnant and will be past the allowed 24 weeks, is the cruise refundable? The room I am looking at is a mini-suite with Verandah.

    Hiya, September!

How exciting! This sounds like a scenario where congratulations would be in order no matter what. While I hope you get to enjoy your cruise vacation, I can understand that planning for a special new arrival is probably the best reason to adjust travel plans.

The terms and conditions of your Disney cruise vacation can be reviewed when you book and may vary, depending on the duration of the cruise itinerary, stateroom category, ports of call, and other factors. Reservations for non-suite and non-concierge staterooms can generally be canceled without fee until the paid-in-full date for the sailing. For cruise itineraries up to five nights in length, that is usually 90 days before sailing. For cruises longer than five nights, the paid-in-full date is usually 120 days before sailing. In many cases, cancelations or modifications to your cruise itinerary can be made from the My Reservations page. Or if your booking was made with the help of an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, your agent would need to make those changes for you. Cancellations or itinerary changes for reservations in suites, concierge staterooms, booked with future cruise credit, or with restricted rates may only be done by calling Disney Cruise Line. Cancellation fees for these types of reservations or other staterooms after their paid-in-full date vary based on the number of days before sailing, as indicated in the cruise contract made available at the time of booking.

Our family almost always purchases travel insurance or a vacation protection plan when we go on our cruise vacations. Guests who have a reasonable risk of an impact to travel due to a pre-existing condition or a developing condition (perhaps including pregnancy after entering the 24th week) should make sure their travel insurance covers that condition or includes a so-called "cancel for any reason" clause. We appreciate the peace of mind we gain with that policy in place, especially for unforeseen circumstances that may occur after the paid-in-full date.

Speaking of new arrivals, did you know that the Disney Cruise Line is expecting one soon? The maiden voyage of the Disney Destiny is set for November 20, 2025. I hope my family and I get an opportunity to experience it very soon.

I wish you well in your Disney cruise planning and your other life plans, September. No matter what, I'm very excited for you and I wish you the best. Should you have any more questions about sailing aboard the Disney Cruise Line, please sail on by planDisney again soon.
