Hi Laura,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for asking us a question!
I’ve travelled to Walt Disney World Resort with large parties before and I can tell you that you’ll definitely have a blast with your gang! The first thing to note: although you can request connecting rooms (with an interior door that connect the two rooms) or adjoining rooms (two rooms that are close to each other) at most
Disney Resorts Collection hotels, the availability of adjoining or connecting rooms isn’t always guaranteed. This is likely why you haven’t seen this as an option when you were making your reservation online.
That said, don’t despair! I know that all Disney hotels make every effort to honor this kind of room request, in spite of the lack of guarantee! Some tips to help ensure that they can make your room wishes come true: I’d recommend
calling Walt Disney World Resort in order to add the request to your reservation the moment it’s booked. If you can’t call, you can always book your rooms yourself and then either call at a later date or use this
handy online email form to add the request for connecting/adjoining rooms to your reservation (be sure to have all reservations numbers handy so that the Cast Member assisting you can access your information more easily.) You can also make your reservation via a Disney Authorized Vacation Planner – these are travel agents who specialize in Disney Destinations and who may have even more tips and tricks up their sleeves to help guarantee your request.
I hope this information helps you plan your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!
Have a Magical Day,
