It seems like you have the perfect plan set up: purchase your dining plan, book your dining reservation, upgrade your dining plan, then use the credits for your meal. I'd be happy to let you know what to expect if you prepay your reservation on a credit card and then choose to use table service dining credits in the castle.
It sounds like you've already booked your vacation package and added the
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan. If your 60 day advance dining reservation window is quickly approaching, you can book and prepay for your reservation at
Cinderella's Royal Table prior to upgrading your dining plan. To upgrade your plan,
get in touch with a friendly Cast Member on the Hotel Reservations line and they will be happy to assist you with the switch.
When your day to dine with princesses in Cinderella Castle arrives, be sure to tell your server that you'll be using Disney Dining Plan credits for your meal. I would do this first thing just to make sure they are aware of the situation. They will work their magic to swap your prepaid funds for 2 table service credits per dining guest while also refunding the card you used to prepay the reservation. While you most likely will not need to have the card with you at the restaurant, I'm a firm believer in the wise words of my mom: "it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it!"
From there, all there will be left to do is enjoy the company of your royal hosts! Make sure to ask them what has been happening in their kingdoms lately and take lots of pictures. What item on the menu are you most looking forward to? The chilled jumbo shrimp is calling my name and I can never resist a juicy filet mignon that's cooked to a perfect medium rare.
