How do I book the character meet and greets on the Fantasy? Also what is the Royal Gathering? I would like to meet as many characters as possible; do you have to have reservations to meet them?

Ahoy there, Heidi! Welcome back to planDisney--I'm so glad you sailed on over with another excellent vacation planning question. Let's dive right in to track down the information you need!

Our family has enjoyed several voyages on Disney Cruise Line and I'm always planning for the next one. Although my girls are a bit past the prime princess demographic these days, they still dearly love an opportunity to see their favorite Characters--especially any royalty joining us for the sailing!

Heidi, if you haven't yet downloaded the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, that should be your first step to ensure smooth sailing for your vacation preparations. Before your cruise, you can use the app to make plans, complete online check-in, and book premium activities. Once you're onboard, the app is your go-to resource for all of the day's activities--including Character greetings--so you don't miss a thing!

Many meet-and-greets happen throughout the day, and you do not need reservations for most of these. The exceptions are Anna and Elsa of Frozen fame, and you can reserve a time with them via the My Cruise Activities section of the DCL website, or the app. You can also inquire with Guest Services once you're onboard. Don't forget to purchase a photo package so you can have the professional pictures taken with your favorite Characters!

The Princess Gathering is a complimentary experience where Guests can engage with several Disney Princesses. This does require an advance booking, and all Guests (regardless of their Castaway Club level) may reserve the Princess Gathering 30 days before departure beginning at midnight EST. This is a popular offering, so I recommend being ready to pounce when the window opens!

If you're traveling with a princess aficionado between the ages of 3 and 12, I love the Royal Court Royal Tea. This is a very special experience featuring a lovely afternoon tea, quality time with several princesses, and some unique keepsakes that will be treasured long after you return home! There is an additional charge for the tea and I also recommend booking this as early as possible.

I hope this helps with your planning, Heidi! I am sure you are going to have a magical cruise. If our planDisney crew can help with any additional questions as your sail date approaches, please reach out anytime!

    Bon Voyage!
