Welcome to planDisney, Rachelle! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today. Candlelight Processional is a classic Disney holiday tradition that dates back all the way to 1955, the opening year of the Disneyland Resort. Guests look forward to this event all year round and it is one of the most popular parts of the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. The
lineup of narrators for this year's Candlelight Processional has recently been announced, along with the return of the
Candlelight Processional Dining Package, so let's chat about what to do if you have a conflicting reservation but still want to attempt to book a dining package.
Rachelle, when you book a dining reservation that conflicts with one you already have booked, you will be asked to choose which one you want during the booking process. For example, I had a reservation at
Steakhouse 71 for next week but
Narcoossee's just re-opened so I grabbed a reservation for the same day at the same time, and there was a pop-up on the Walt Disney World Resort website that prompted me to choose which reservation I would like to keep. This will be great for you since you don't want to let go of your current reservation in case you're not able to book a Candlelight Processional Dining Package. When the packages are released on October 17, go ahead and try to book the one you want and if a time is available, you will be asked which one you want to keep.
I hope this answers your question, Rachelle, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
