Hello! I want to book the Blue Bayou Fantasmic Dining package. How do I ensure that we get reserved seating for the 1st Fantasmic showing of the evening instead of the 2nd show? My kids are young and won't be able to stay awake for the 2nd show!

Hi Nicole, thank you so much for visiting us here at planDisney!

Your question really resonated with me, as a fellow mom of young kids who loves to maximize our family's time at Disneyland Resort. It sounds like we both know it's never worth it to push the limit when it comes to sleep on vacation! I think you've made a really wise choice to enjoy a Fantasmic! Dining Package because not only will you have a wonderful meal under the glow of the fireflies at Blue Bayou Restaurant, but you'll also have access to a reserved viewing area for one of my favorite nighttime spectaculars! This is definitely a dining reservation to make as soon as you can - up to 60 days in advance of your visit.

As you might know, the Fantasmic! Dining Package at Blue Bayou Restaurant is available for both lunch starting at 11:00 AM and dinner starting at 4:00 PM and includes a voucher admitting you to the reserved viewing location for one of the Fantasmic! showtimes. When I spoke with a Cast Member earlier today about this, they suggested that you speak with your server to request the vouchers for the first showing of Fantasmic! on the day of your reservation. This is the same process I followed when I did the dining package with my family, and I have found the Cast Members are very understanding of the need to accommodate your tiny dreamers' needs! Of course, I do recommend you check the entertainment schedule on the day of your visit as performances and showtimes are subject to change

Nicole, since you mentioned you have young kids, have you also considered character dining experiences for your upcoming visit? My kids request a character breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen or Storyteller's Cafe every time we visit, and since both of these restaurants are located in a Disneyland Resort hotel, we often choose to book them on our arrival or departure day. This ensures that we really maximize our time on the days we have theme park reservations. Just an extra tip, in case it proves useful for you and your family!

I hope these are some helpful recommendations for you, Nicole. If we can offer any other advice as you prepare your family's Disneyland Resort plans, please feel welcome to reach out again!

    Wishing you Wondrous Journeys,
