To book birthday events and participate in things such as the birthday pins, do you need to be at the park on the exact day of your birthday? My daughter turns 7 on June 17th and we check into the resort for a week long stay on June 20th.

    Hi Penny,

I bet your daughter is so excited to be celebrating her birthday at Disney World. The only birthday thing you must be at WDW on your actual birthday for, is the free admission program. As part of Disney's What Will You Celebrate promotion, a guest can receive a one day one park admission, or if you already have a park ticket a few other birthday options. However this gift is only available on your actual birthday and must be verified thru an ID, birth certificate or passport. Additional information on this promotion can be found here.

Great news though, your daughter is able to celebrate any other way whether it is her actual birthday or not. She is welcome to pick up her Happy Birthday button and wear it proudly. Often that button leads to fun extras like a cupcake at her meal or an extra turn on a ride or maybe even a spot in a parade. You may want to schedule a special trip to the Bippity Boppity Boutique or how about dinner with her favorite characters. Disney Florist has recently added some amazing new gift packages that you can order for an in room celebration. You can check out the selection and prices by visiting here. Be sure to mention her birthday to the resort at check-in, sometimes they can help with a fun birthday card surprise.

Hope you have a wonderful trip and your daughter has an amazing birthday!
